Biography
Rabbi Heilbrunn has served as a Rabbi for almost five decades. In 2011 he retired from the St Kilda Synagogue where he was Chief Minister for twenty four years. Rabbi Heilbrunn served as President of Australia and New Zealand’s Rabbinate for eight years and is currently President of the Rabbinical Council of Victoria.
Rabbi Heilbrunn has vast experience in the area of Conversion to Judaism through his collaborative work with the Melbourne Beth Din, the Johannesburg Beth Din, and with the Sydney Beth Din through his period as Chief Rabbi of South Australia.
Rabbi Heilbrunn has served as The Melbourne Beth Din’s Introductory Assessor of Candidates for Conversion since the MBD’s restructure.
