Biography

Schneier was born in Johannesburg South Africa into a diverse family of 7 children. Completing his schooling in South Africa he subsequently went to study in Israel. He chose to become a Rabbi after not having originally planned this as a career path, due to his love of Torah and community.

Schneier has a good understanding of the cross section of the Jewish community, having grown up in a diverse family, with some of his siblings religious and others not at all, all professionals living in South Africa. He is a devoted husband and father of 2. Counselling and personal growth are 2 of his favourite areas. He is passionate about the Melbourne Jewish Community and to contribute to its continual growth, seeing the community reach its full potential as a whole and as individuals.
